Types of ICEL knives

As we had the opportunity to mention in the previous paragraph, on this page you will find all the best lines of the ICEL kitchen knife brand. From the Tokyo series, the line inspired by the more traditional Japanese knives up to more table solutions such as complete steak knife sets.

What unites all the products of the ICEL brand is certainly the origin. In fact, despite the competitive prices of its products, the company actively produces all its kitchen knives in Portugal, without therefore decentralizing production in Asia as is the case for many competitors.

In this way the brand is able to offer its customers better quality control. Being able to further increase the quality standards offered compared to the solutions proposed by competitors who decentralize production in Asian countries.

History of the ICEL brand

The first lines of kitchen knives of the ICEL brand were born in a small family-run workshop founded in the 40s by three brothers. Here the steel was forged with which the first lines of knives and cutlery were made. Originally this workshop was based in Ribafria a small town near Benedita in Portugal.

Originally the range of products made by the ICEL brand consisted of a series of pocket knives made entirely by hand forged in precious steel with high levels of carbon. The handles were made with animal bones and horns. With the expansion of production, the distribution of ICEL knives passed from local to regional and with the arrival of the main means of transport, they began to become known in all the different nearby locations.

Already in 1945, given the enormous success of the brand, the small company that at the time had 25 employees was restructured to found the company that takes the name of Indústria de Cutelarias from Extremadura, from which the first ICEL brand was born. .
